Scusset Beach State Reservation is located in southeastern Massachusetts. From South of Boston: Rte. 3 toward Plymouth/Cape Cod. Take Exit 1A for US-5 West toward Buzzards Bay/Falmouth/Scusset Beach Rd. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Scusset Beach Rd. Turn left at Scenic Hwy. Continue on Meetinghouse Lane. Continue on Scusset Beach Rd. From the Cape: US-6 West towards Boston/Providence R.I. Take the exit toward Canal St/Rte. 3A. Slight right at Canal St/Rte. 3A. Turn right at Meetinghouse Lane. Scusset Beach offers 98 RV sites that include water and electric hookups with 20/30/50 amp service, as well as five tent-only sites and a safari field. The safari field has a minimum of 20 self-contained RV units, with a maximum of 75 units and is intended for family camping and RV clubs. Advance reservations are required for use of the safari field. Each RV site is provided with a picnic table and pedestal grill and access to a community fire pit. Individual fire rings are only available at tent sites. Portable propane fire pits are permitted. |

Specific to this facility: Please, fires in community fire pit or fire rings on tent sites only. There are no campfires permitted on RV sites. Fires must be extinguished by midnight. Only propane for cooking, no charcoal.. Campers should bring extension cords and extension hoses (at least 50-75 feet) for electric and water respectively, as some sites are closer to hookups than others. The dumping station hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please read the important information below, prior to making a reservation. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all Massachusetts state parks and campgrounds. Massachusetts prohibits the transportation of firewood into or out of any DCR campground. Firewood must be purchased at the campground. Transportation of firewood or other wood products, may result in eviction. Check-in time is 1:00 to 9:00 pm; check out by 11:00 am. Quiet hours are 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. The use of generators is not permitted during quiet hours except for the purpose of operating a medical device. Reservation and Occupancy: Campers and/or camping equipment are limited to 14 cumulative days occupancy in any one park between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Violators of the 14-day limit may have their reservation cancelled and be asked to leave the park. Reservations must be in the name of the primary occupant, who is at least 18 years of age. A photo ID is required at check- in and must match the name on the reservation. Campsite occupancy is limited to four adults, or two adults and the children in their care. Campsites are limited to two tents, or one tent and one trailer or RV, and two vehicles maximum (including tow trailers) per site. Reservations with departure dates outside the 6-month maximum window cannot be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made. Cancellations and changes will incur a $10 fee. Day of arrival cancellations require a phone call to the campground and will result in the loss of the first night's camping fee, plus the $10 cancellation fee. Reserved campsites will be held until 8:00 am on the day after your scheduled arrival date. If we are not contacted, your reservation will be no-showed resulting in no refund. Camping with Pets: Pets are permitted at most campgrounds and there is a limit of four pets per campsite. A current rabies certificate must be presented at check-in. Pets must be leashed at all times and cannot be left unattended. Pets are not permitted in state buildings or when camping in a yurt or cabin. |

Within the park the sandy ocean beach, scenic picnic area, fishing opportunities and historic Sagamore Hill offers something for everyone. Activities include swimming, saltwater fishing (license required), picnicking, camping, walking, running, bicycling, bird watching, ship watching, geo-caching and interpretive nature programs in the summer season. Hunting (in-season) is permitted at Scusset Beach, for more information please: click here Scusset Beach also offers weekend camping during much of the off-season. Camping is limited to self-contained units only, as there are no restrooms, water hookups, showers or dump station outside the regular camping season. The main beach area is 1600 feet long with lifeguards, restroom/shower facility and a concession stand. Beach wheelchairs are available. The fish pier area has a parking lot, restrooms and a picnic area complete with grills for cooking the catch! The pier allows great fishing and access to views of Cape Cod Canal for people of all abilities. |
